Dat flower ship and Time

Spent a lot of time trying to get that painterly style but realizing that it will only come with time and study, I cant force it over night . I still have a lot of work with light and I really want to focus on doing movie still studies and thumbnails. I think I will move forward faster if that's the case. Or .....I could focus on getting in on the environment and creature of the week over on CA.org. I also really want to get in on some of the sinix design labs as well preferably the recent or new ones but i can always go back and try my hand at them. The same goes for crimson daggers stuff with Dave Rapoza and Dan Warren.

Figuring out a process

Well I like this matte paining process much like Maciej Kuciara uses however, I am in no way at the same level. The principle however, remains the same. I hope to learn a lot from trying to figure out matte paining and using that to render semi final concepts out. my lighting is still not where I want it as you can see the image is very flat and things are rough all over . Latley though its been more about generating ideas. as I think that is really what defines concept artist from illustrator. More specifically.... Ideas for environments, props and vehicles. Characters definitely no... I just am not strong there and it will take some time before I am. Id rather get proficient in a specific focus.

Old Farm equipment and cutout filter.

Trying to use the cutout filter with pictures of old farming equipment to get some interesting ideas. I'd like to get to do more of this . Only had a few minutes to tinker around.

Some Speedies

Maybe not so speedies, but I enjoy finding diff swatches and trying new pallets and such . I still need to work on my composition though its still too central. I started  using "frazetta style " compositions in my physical sketchbook and I think i may apply that to my photoshop stuff.

todays thumbs b4 work

Regular Posting time

Figuring out that a bad habit of mine is the " oh ill post it later" syndrome well not any more after i end a session everything goes up I need eyes on my work and critique of all sorts.

 for the above ^^^^  I wrote a little bit of what was going through my head : "and he stared up as the last free ship left, for the outer rims. News of the earth colony conflicts had dispersed and an unknown victor was returning to claim its rewards and establish rule. These were the last free families to leave the system in over 100 years."

This was a picture I took that i enjoyed just drawing a  line drawing overtop and manipulating some areas.

I streamed these and i think it was about 3 hours in total too long I think.
